CASE HISTORY: A graduate of the University of Southern California film school, Irvin Kershner began his career in 1950, producing documentaries for the U.S. Information Service in the Middle East. He turned to television in the 1950s, directing and photographing a series of documentaries called Confidential File. Kershner was one of the directors given his first break by producer Roger Corman, for whom he shot Stakeout on Dope Street. The main theme that runs through many of Kershner’s films is social alienation and human weaknesses – although his biggest commercial success was the sci-fi blockbuster Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back. And also, man that guy will tell a story.

Shunt McGuppin is a dyed-in-the-wool American legend. Country music hasn’t been the same since this surly, uneducated prodigy burst onto the Nashville scene in 1966 and proceeded to piss away his musical genius on bad booze, bad drugs and bad women…that were fat. Shunt has toured with Willie Nelson, Mutt Taylor, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash. He began his career with Timmy Tomlin and the Fuckhead Band. McGuppin produced Starship’s last two albums. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California.

Pictured above in 1983, Hume and Olivas first broke on to the scene as announcers for The Boothroyd Bourbon Mystery Hour. Since then, their alluring baritones have become synonymous with American movie trailer classics. Just a few of their film trailers include: Swollen Justice, Radical Jack and Put Down Your Guns H.M.S. Me Love You Long Time. Both Hume & Olivas have entertained unsuccessful solo careers only to return to the celebrated partnership. They currently reside somewhere along the California coast.

Cousins Vance Milton & Abelarde Dupree began performing the vaudeville circuit at the tender age of three months. Raised in a show business family, Milton & Dupree utilized their keen talents and canny showmanship to win over audiences all throughout the country. After selling out shows on the popular Orpheum Circuit, Milton & Dupree took time out to record the first ever comedy album, and their masterpiece: Milton, Dupree & Baby Makes Three. Their career ended tragically when Milton, intoxicated on Jamaican root extract burned Dupree to death with an iron. It was Dupree’s demise and Milton’s subsequent incarceration that signaled the fall of the golden age of vaudeville.
